We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist responsible for driving the day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Manager of People and Culture, this position will serve as the first line of defense for general queries and employee relation matters, escalating complex issues to senior leaders of the HR team. This position will often work cross-functionally with other departments and maintains high visibility, so it's important to have a collaborative spirit and a positive, "can-do" attitude.

As a Generalist, responsibilities will range within the following disciplines: talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, HR systems and resources, and general HR administration and compliance. The successful individual will be highly organized, have keen eye for detail, pro-active in nature, with the ability to demonstrate critical thinking and a desire to problem solve.

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding/Offboarding:
    • Facilitate the onboarding experience from end-to-end including pre-hire communication, background checks, paperwork, and the facilitation of new hire orientation.
    • Facilitate offboarding logistics including communication to key stakeholders, coordinating termination of systems and accounts, collecting equipment, coordinating exit interviews and providing offboarding paperwork.
  • HR Tools & Resource Management:
    • Process all employee changes within our HRIS, anticipating and trouble shooting system issues, running data analytics and reporting, and maintaining data integrity
    • Support and maintain additional HR resources including the HR shared drive, intranet and ticketing system, updating as needed
  • Operations & Employee Relations:
    • Serve as the first line of defense for employee questions, concerns, or issues, appropriately escalating to the correct parties and handling sensitive information with tact, discretion, and diplomacy
    • Act as a consultant to stakeholders and first level management offering guidance or support using your knowledge of HR excellence
    • Collaborate with members of other functions including Finance and Payroll to solve problems, complete routine activities, and support special initiatives
  • Benefit Compliance & Administration:
    • Assist with the day-to-day administration of our health benefits program including ensuring compliance, answering employee questions, processing employee benefit enrollments, assisting with the coordination and planning of open enrollment
    • In partnership with HR Leaders support and manage employment related issues that includes employee relations investigations, workers compensation, OSHA Reporting, ADA Interactive Process, and Leave Management compliance
    • Support senior HR leaders in leaves of absence administration as needed
  • Culture Champion
    • Partner with other culture champions to facilitate a variety of employee events, activities and perks, while constantly looking for ways to expand the program and enhance the employee experience
  • HR Administration & Compliance
    • Maintain physical and electronic employee files in accordance with compliance and HR best practice
    • Ensure mandatory federal and state posters are available in-studio and on our intranet
    • Partner with other members of the HR team to revise HR policies, standard operating procedures and review of the employee handbook
    • Support members of the HR team or special projects as they arise
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years of professional HR experience
  • Previous experience with HRIS and ATS
  • Knowledge of US and CA labor law and regulatory compliance related to HR management, labor relations, grievance management, and employment law
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with knowledge of basic formulas and pivot tables
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and EI
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate exceptional judgment, discretion, confidentiality and professional courtesy
