Improbable is working towards opening multiple offices within China and hiring the initial ‘founders’ of Improbable China; our core hub for APAC Operations. We are looking for individuals with a founder mentality to support Games Production, Business Development and Product Development. Initially the focus will be on SpatialOS, but we are also opening our China Office to explore new product opportunities in gaming.

Our first China office will be based in Guangzhou and we expect to expand to multiple locations over time, as we explore additional opportunities beyond the SpatialOS platform. There will be significant opportunities to work with our outstanding Product, Engineering and Commercial teams based in London, San Francisco and other APAC countries.

Your Mission

will be to work with both our Recruiting and HR teams to support this headcount growth in a fast-paced start-up environment. You will join our People Operations team in Shanghai, as we are supporting Improbable’s expansion across Shanghai, Guangzhou, with further expansion planned in Japan and Korea.

As an HR Generalist you will work to support our people processes from attracting and managing candidates through to working with employees during onboarding and beyond. Your role will focus on:

Talent Coordination - You will be a trusted point of contact to all candidates, interviewers and the China Talent Team to organise interviews and will issue any required documentation needed throughout the hiring process.
Candidate Care - You will be the guardian of the candidate’s experience throughout the interview process at Improbable: from preparatory documents, travel arrangements, onsite hosting, to general advice on the locality and company. We expect you to thrive to try to add value in all possible areas and bring new ideas to the table.
HR - You will work with our HR Team to support employee-related processes, including new-joiner orientation, our onboarding programme, learning and development, and contract management.
Mobility - You will also work with our global mobility team based in London to support travel, visas, and residence permits both from overseas to China and from China to overseas. You will be based in Shanghai, but will also travel to and work with our London-based People Operations team to map, understand and localise our global tools and processes for China.
