Team17 Group Plc is a global games label, creative partner and developer of independent premium video games, developer and publisher of educational entertainment apps for children and a leading working simulation games developer and publisher.
The Group was founded in 1990 followed by the successful launch of Team17’s Games Label in 2014 and since then has gone through rapid growth before and after the IPO in 2018. We are now a Group of businesses employing over 400 people across 3 countries with 5 hub locations but with 3 locations in the UK.
What You Will be Working On as a Group Commercial Operations Director
We are looking for a highly experienced and process driven Operations professional to take on the newly created role of Group Commercial Operations Director. This person will work closely with the Group Executive team and leadership teams of each business, to help us grow and harmonize our commercial operations division across the group. You’ll deliver and instill a shared vision across the operations function at group level in order to create and maintain adaptable symbiotic relationships between our Group companies.
Your Day-To-Day
- Develop and implement a Commercial Operations organisational profile and identity
- Lead the Group outsource best practice teams to ensure group ROI opportunities alongside best in class supply chain management governance
- Build a Groupwide central services strategy looking at central vs local services and leveraging/optimising Group resources and buying power
- Support to Group M&A activity (due diligence on group targets plus identification of opportunities to support outsource strategy)
- Enhance Group commercial processes, tools and policies to enable consistent and efficient internal hand-over to department heads & project management teams as well as drive KPI reporting and tracking across the Group
- In close collaboration with the Group production, marketing, sales and other teams, lead and manage all tender activities (deal structure, cost roll-up, pricing, terms & conditions negotiation, and external / internal requirements)Coordinate tendering inputs / outputs with the various internal support functions
- Lead the forecasting, to drive commercial efficiencies, initiatives and support external and internal quality audits
- Establish strategic growth initiatives to drive sustainable, profitable growth and optimise the business performance
What You'll Need
- Demonstrable experience within the Games industry Commercial/operation senior leadership
- A passion for the ‘Business of Video Games’
- Strong knowledge of outsourcing practices, management of third parties, global supply chain management and commercially savvy
- P&L budget management experience within an international/ Global business is preferred
- An understanding of working with license partners would be advantageous
- People-focused, with an emphasis on building strong relationships and open communication
- Comfortable operating within complex scenarios, balancing competing priorities and perspectives to drive the best possible outcome
- Ability to make an impact, influence and the leadership required to manage indirect teams
- Demonstrable competence in strategic planning and business development
