Engineering: Senior Graphics Engineer - Unreal Engine

We are looking for an Unreal Engine Graphics Engineer for our upcoming title in the Subnautica Universe. You will participate in creating stunning visuals on a variety of platforms and will be responsible for the delivery and integration of robust graphical features and associated engine and pipeline functionality. You will collaborate with our multi-disciplined development teams, working on a wide variety of projects and tasks, contributing to the development of high-quality performant graphic systems.

This is a remote position on a fully distributed remote team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, implement, and maintain advanced graphics technologies for our projects
• Lead the performance and memory optimization efforts on our games including profiling and analysis
• Establish performance budgets for game content across all platforms
• Develop automated performance testing tools and processes
• Write, maintain and document stable and reliable code
• Working closely with art departments and art directors to provide effective solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years experience shipping games on a variety of platforms (or equivalent)
• Professional knowledge of Unreal Engine, preferably a shipped title with UE technology
• Knowledge of DirectX 11/12, OpenGL, Vulkan, or Metal
• Expertise in GPU hardware architecture, graphics APIs, and shading languages
• Deep understanding of GPU and CPU performance characteristics and optimization techniques
• Experience with modern 3D graphics engines, writing shaders and collaborating with artists on developing rendering technologies
• Strong C/C++ programming skills
• Experience with graphics debugging tools (RenderDoc, Pix, console-specific, etc.)
• Extensive experience with graphics performance profiling and optimization
• Strong understanding of 3D math fundamentals

PREFERENCES

• Console development experience, particularly XBS & PS5
• Experience working closely with a multidisciplinary team
