inXile entertainment is an Xbox Game Studio led by Brian Fargo. We specialize in deep, reactive, and narrative-focused RPGs but love exploring other genres. Our studio is filled with passionate developers who love making games and playing them.

As a talented engineer who can bridge the gap between game development's technical and artistic parts. The Graphics Engineer will work closely with all departments to ensure visual fidelity and optimized presentation are achieved.

Responsibilities:

  • Concept, design, and implement clean & easy to maintain C++ code while ensuring proper documentation
  • Work closely with the art and engineering teams to push the graphical capabilities of our games
  • Creates reusable and scalable rendering technology
  • Ensure high performance by closely monitoring and profiling existing systems and technology
  • Provide support for graphics tools and technology used by artists, designers, and engineers
  • Stay up to date with new graphics hardware and software trends
  • Debugging minor and major bugs and performance issues on multiple platforms such as Xbox, PC, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of C++ with the ability to implement Object Oriented Programming model system designs
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Experience with a vast array of existing Unreal Engine graphical subsystems (lighting, Niagara, materials, etc.)
  • Ability to use profiling tools such as PIX or Insights
  • Ability to test, debug, and extend existing systems and code
  • Understanding memory management, threading, and runtime optimization
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the video game or related industry
  • Good understanding of modern rendering algorithms, the PBR workflow, and raytracing
  • Strong foundation in 3D math and algorithms
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field

Desired:

  • 5 years of professional experience in the video game or related industry
  • Working knowledge of DX12 and DXR
  • Experience in other programming languages in addition to C++, such as Python and C#
  • Unreal Engine 5 experience
  • AAA game development experience with at least 1 game shipped
  • Console development experience
