Graphic Designer, Marketing

PlayVS is building the infrastructure and official platform for high school esports. We work with game publishers and high school governing bodies to build and operate sanctioned leagues across the country. PlayVS is headquartered in Santa Monica, CA and is rapidly expanding.
As a graphic designer on the marketing team you’ll have the opportunity to help set the visual identity of the brand. Your work will appear everywhere, from our social media accounts to our events at major sports stadiums. If you have a passion for gaming and design, we’d love to chat with you.
You’ll help us:
- Conceptualize and produce collateral that conveys our brand values and effectively communicates important messages
- Develop a way to keep messaging consistent across various audiences like players and parents
- Proactively identify situations where we will need visual solutions and create design experiences for those well before we need them
- Support the web design and marketing team with website updates
- Balance requests for specific pre-designed items like banners with requests to be extremely creative that are more open-ended
- Test various calls to action, illustrations and ideas and strive to continuously improve the effectiveness of all creative
- Create templates and workflows that can help the design process be flexible and efficient
- Create game clips and edit footage to showcase gameplay tactics and player skills
- Manage all creative assets how we organize collections across all teams
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in graphic design with a focus on marketing materials
- A portfolio of marketing designs such as banners, infographics, flyers, brochures, invitations, thank you notes, web design templates, illustrations, etc
- Expert in Adobe CS software particularly Photoshop and Illustrator and experience with tools like Abstract
- Motion graphic, video editing or Photography & DSLR camera experience a plus
- Excellent writing skills that match your love of typography and a keen eye for detail
