In this role you will support AppLovin’s global People Operations team by being our in-house subject matter expert for all things global mobility, including developing and maintaining a new mobility program, visa/immigration processing, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to make sure that relocating employees have a smooth and supported experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and manage a scalable global mobility program and processes which support a globally distributed team, including a population of remote workers
- Implement and maintain mobility policies and practices globally
- Advise and guide managers, recruiters, and business teams to set expectations on recommended practices, process, and timelines; and provide excellent customer service to employees in responding to their questions/concerns
- Benchmark our current policies against internal feedback and external market standards, assess potential opportunities for improvement, and make strategic recommendations for program changes
- Be a point of contact for vendors - including relocation, tax service and immigration service providers
- Provide expert level immigration, relocation, tax equalization, tax and mobility related consultation to the business
- Collaborate with internal resources and external partners / vendors to provide guidance and direction to business leaders, HR, and cross-functional teams
- Oversee the management of the visa/work permits/permanent residence application processes
- Collaborate with other departments within the company on overall coordination and creation of the Global Mobility Program (Legal, Payroll, Tax, Accounting, Finance, Talent Acquisition, etc.)
- Oversee, manage, and maintain relationships with each team/employee with active mobility cases while providing excellent service throughout the process
- Provide strategic guidance on how to navigate cross-entity hiring as well as establishing entities for global talent hubs and in partnership with cross-functional considerations (e.g. Tax, equity, immigration challenges, permanent establishment, etc.)
Your background and who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent years of professional experience
- 5+ years in Global Mobility, ideally in a rapidly growing global company. Previous experience in HR operations, tax mobility, or a global consulting firm is a plus
- Global public company experience, with equity program exposure is preferred
- Knowledge of immigration processes and visa types, specifically in the US. Previous experience various EMEA/EU visas is a plus
- Experience building and scaling a mobility program from the ground up is a plus
- Vendor management skills with a focus on accountability and building relationships
- Knowledge of international employment-related laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Extremely organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working in a remote, globally distributed team in a fast-paced high-growth environment strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Workday is a plus
- Experience at a technology company or highly successful start-up strongly preferred
- Proactive problem solver and disciplined self-starter that thrives in an ambiguous environment with ever-changing priorities
