Generalist Artist

What We Need:

Our Foothill Ranch, CA studio is seeking a Generalist Artist to join our development efforts on an exciting new open world driving game! Within this role, you will utilize your broad skills in multiple art disciplines in game art creation and development and work with a talented team to craft a distinctive and immersive world.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with artists on the team to create and deliver 2D and 3D game art assets for the following areas of development including environments, props, UI, VFX, and characters.
• Adhere to visual tenants of an established visual design but push the boundaries of what is possible or expected.
• Collaborate effectively with game design and art to visually represent game design intentions with Triple-A game quality visuals.
• Ensure assets are fully optimized and performant while minimizing impact on artistic integrity.

Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in game development as a 3D artist.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D game art creation, processes, and development pipelines.
• Experience with working within Unreal Engine 4.
• Proficient knowledge of 3D modeling in low and high-poly assets and texturing using industry standard software (3DS Max, Maya, ZBrush, Blender, Substance Designer, and Photoshop).
• Solid fundamental art skills and knowledge of basic art principles (shape, form, color, lighting, perspective).
• Organized and detailed with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and feedback well and collaborate with peers.

Pluses:

• Knowledge of creating materials and material instances in Unreal Engine.
• Knowledge of creating VFX using Unreal Engine Cascade or Niagara.
• Experience in creating art for User Interfaces.
