Gameplay UI Engineer

CCP Games is looking for a talented, passionate Gameplay/UI Engineer to join our team in London building a new and highly ambitious online shooter. We are looking to grow a relatively small, tight-knit team, capable of delivering big ideas through experience, smart process, and world-class tools. Reporting to the Lead Gameplay Engineer, you will work closely with UI/UX designers and be responsible for crafting the technical implementation of 2D and 3D UI systems throughout the game.

Your tasks

• Own the technical implementation of 2D and 3D UI systems in Unreal and C++

• Work closely with UI/UX designers to create intuitive and compelling experiences

• Support the creation of a range of Gameplay features and systems

• Give direct input on the feature roadmap

• Identify any technical roadblocks and suggest solutions

• Design and implement maintainable and extensible code systems

• Collaborate closely with other engineers to find great technical solutions

• Continual learning about state-of-the-art games systems and coding best practice

• Work as a key part of an agile development team, taking responsibility for organising and planning your own work

• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge

• Bug fixing and optimization

Your profile

• Experience in the technical design, implementation and maintenance of game UI systems and networking in AAA PC/console teams

• Experience in owning the implementation for sections or whole UI systems

• Attention to detail and demonstrable passion for UI/UX in games

• Knowledge of UI design patterns

• A passion for playing and building video games!

• Significant professional experience with C++

• Good understanding of Unreal Engine / Blueprints / UMG system

• Versatility and pro-activity, a willingness to contribute to a wide range of engineering tasks

• Experience with software debugging and optimisation
