Job Description
Are you a gameplay programmer with an interest in working on the next generation of animation systems? This is your chance to make it right from start. Send us a message today!
The Mission
We are looking for a Gameplay Programmer, working with animation systems to join our studio for an ambitious unannounced game here in Stockholm Sweden.
As Gameplay Programmer, you will in this role join our Animation team where you will help build the core systems on which world-class data-driven gameplay systems are built. As we work in cross-functional teams within the project, you will be interacting with people from many other disciplines and follow agile methodologies to drive your work forward.
Our Plan
We know you're passionate about games, and for us it's important that you get to thrive and succeed in a creative environment. To do this, we are creating strong autonomous teams that make decisions independently and have the freedom to try out new things and show why they work. For us it is important that you get to shine by being creative: to take deliberate decisions, poke holes in things, navigate through known pitfalls when required to and care for your craft by honoring your commitments.
In this role, you’ll be joining the Animation System team and report to our Lead Animation Programmer. It is a small team, meaning you will have the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as you want, but you will also work with other programmers and members from other teams such as animators and technical game designers. It will be important to understand their needs, to share best practices and provide mentorship as needed on how to author gameplay systems – both in code and in data.
In this role you will...
- Adapt existing technical designs into functional code systems, in collaboration with other Senior and Lead programmers
- Work in tandem with Animators and Designers to create robust, scalable gameplay systems
- Create data-driven code systems that satisfy performance requirements whilst matching their respective design briefs
- Document your work to share knowledge on how to use the new systems and functionalities
Qualifications
We would love if you...
- Have an interest in building systems that drive gameplay animations.
- Are self-motivated and have a creative mindset to problem solving in code.
- Have experience with working in the gaming industry, preferably AAA game development
- Are a skilled C++ programmer, with good understanding of modern C++.
- Have experience with building large data-driven systems.
- Have experience with building systems that drive large numbers of highly dynamic characters.
- Are used to working in an international environment and to express yourself fluently in English.
