We are looking to hire a Mid-Experienced level Gameplay Programmer to join our Project Baxter team. You will contribute across many different aspects of the game; be it player movement, weapon systems, sound implementation, AI, network, support systems, game state machines, controllers and more.
Project Baxter is a cooperative action game set in the world of Dungeons & Dragons®. Inspired by our love of tabletop RPGs and built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, we will embrace cutting edge technology to create entertaining and emergent gameplay scenarios. Project Baxter is set to launch on all major platforms in 2026.
Please note, this role must be based in Stockholm with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop gameplay code across many different aspects of a game; be it player movement, weapon systems, sound implementation, AI, network, support systems, game state machines, controllers and more.
- Collaborate closely with our Game Design team to assist with implementation and feedback.
- Take responsibility for the features you are adding; bugs or design issues are addressed by you or communicated to the Lead Gameplay Programmer.
- Deliver a great end-user experience together with the team
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar GPP role using Unreal Engine.
- Basic knowledge of performance profiling and debugging.
- Familiarity with Perforce and/or other version control systems.
Good to have:
- Experience working with AI features, in particular behaviour trees.
- Experience working on an online coop/multiplayer game.
Interview process:
- 30m introductory Google Meet call with a member of our Talent Acquisition team
- 1h Google Meet call with our Lead Gameplay Programmer
- 1h Google Meet call with two members of the project from adjacent disciplines (i.e. Design, Art, Animation, Audio)
- 1h onsite meeting (for those that are local) or Google Meet call with our Head of Technology
