Gameplay Engineer

As a Gameplay Engineer at Unknown Worlds your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with our teams and help design and implement a wide range of gameplay features and mechanics.
We have a distributed team so self-direction and excellent communication are important skills for success in this environment. This is a permanent, full-time position. You can work from our central office in San Francisco, or anywhere in the world (like many of our team members).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, prototype and iterate on compelling and innovative gameplay mechanics
- Help develop and implement intuitive and effective player facing user interfaces
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to create tools for designers and artists
- Write, maintain and document stable and reliable code
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years experience shipping games on a variety of platforms (or equivalent)
- C# programming experience
- Familiarity with Unity
- Passion for gaming and solid understanding of game design principles
- Team player with good communication skills
PREFERENCES
- PlayStation, XBox and Switch experience
- Strong applied math skills
- Previous experience working closely with a multidisciplinary team
