Started by former Xbox game designer Elan Lee and The Oatmeal’s founder Matt Inman, Exploding Kittens and its family of games recreates game night for a humorous and fun person-to-person experience. Today, there are over a dozen games and expansions available for purchase: Exploding Kittens, Bears vs Babies, You’ve Got Crabs, Throw Throw Burrito, On a Scale of One to T-Rex, Poetry for Neanderthals A Game of Cat & Mouth, Tacocat Spelled Backwards, A Little Wordy, as well as mobile app games Kitty Letter and Exploding Kittens, one of the top 30 premium games on both iOS and Android.
The Digital team at Exploding Kittens is responsible for bringing Exploding Kittens games and IP to the Digital space. We are looking to hire a Gameplay Engineer who can help us rapidly prototype and evaluate new game ideas. As a key member of our newly formed Digital team, you will be working in a fast paced and highly creative environment, helping identify which of our existing games would work best on mobile devices and consoles as well as creating new experiences that are tailor made for them.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:
- Be a key part of our Rapid Disposable Prototyping efforts, ensuring we can quickly decide which of our many ideas we should focus on
- Work with sizing, documenting, implementing, and releasing deliverables
- Work closely with various stakeholders including our physical game development team and our founders, to bring their visions to life
- Provide design inspiration and feedback to ensure that we are working on the best possible concepts
- Translate physical designs to digital platforms, preserving the feel of our games
WHAT WE NEED:
- 4+ years of game development experience with at least one shipped Live Services game
- BS Computer Science degree or equivalent experience, MS is a plus
- Experience developing games in Unity C#
- Broad knowledge of current game development technologies
- Strong team player that can manage feedback from multiple diverse sources
- Passion for games, both digital and physical
