Gameplay Director
We are looking for an outstanding Gameplay Director, reporting to the Franchise Game Director, you will establish and guide the game's core, moment-to-moment, action gameplay experience. From our combat mechanics, to character, camera, and control feel, to gear and systems standards, the Gameplay Director will guide and inspire their team as we move from prototyping, to implementation, to polish and debugging.

- Work with franchise leadership to form a gameplay vision that is authentic to the IP.
- Advocate for the player experience set expectations around the ARPG market and ensure our features are aligned with player satisfaction and enjoyment.
- Experiment with design features to identify opportunities and establish best practices.
- Direct and participate in the prototype, iteration process, reviews, and feedback.
- Meet with the team to brainstorm ideas, set performance benchmarks, and identify technology gaps.
- Guide and inspire the team, using our franchise pillars to guide priorities, comp references, and quality metrics.
- Meet with the team to motivate and strengthen the design vision.
- Work with UXR to gauge and improve player feedback.
- Work with the Art and Animation Director to balance technical, aesthetic, gameplay feel, and narrative constraints.
- Work with production to identify asset dependencies, scope alignment, and delivery schedules.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of gameplay design experience with lead gameplay design experience on at least one AAA title on a Single Player, 3rd Person, or Action RPG genre.
- Experience developing vision regarding gameplay; combat systems and mechanics; weapons and balance; character, camera, control, and abilities; AI enemies and followers; progression; and enemy encounters.
- Mentor gameplay designers at all levels of experience.
- Have a deep passion for interactive narrative and gameplay design. An affinity for Sci-Fi.
- Be a collaborator with the ability to pitch your ideas in large or small groups.
- Experience with Unreal or comparative game engines.
- Experience working with Creative leads to identify design requirements.
- Experience working with Technical leads to identify pipeline and feature requirements.
