We are most well-known for developing the Warhammer: Vermintide franchise, but have also helped develop a number of AAA titles and we recently launched the highly anticipated game Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.

The role
We're looking for a great Game Animator to make our future plans for Vermintide 2 come alive. You will need to be versatile, as you will work on, among other things: players, enemies, NPC's, cutscenes, events and more. For this to work you will need to have a close collaboration with Game Design and AI, in a team where every member has a lot of responsibility and influence. You will need to be comfortable with creating your own tasks, and plan your work to meet deadlines.
As an Animator on Vermintide 2 you will work closely with a small team, where you will have a lot of influence in how the characters behave and move. You will also be responsible for implementing your animations and making sure they work as intended. You need to be an excellent team player, communication and collaboration is key in this highly creative environment.

What you'll do
- Work closely with Game Design and programmers to create impactful Animations for a FPP experience
- Animate first & third person rigs for the playable characters
- Develop and animate enemies, using both motion capture and hand-key animation
- Design and implement Animation State Machines
- Meet challenges with creative solutions
- Estimate workload and plan animation work
- Work to improve character animation quality in all areas
Required qualifications
- 2+ years experience animating in the game industry, with a heavy focus on gameplay animations
- Experience of First Person animations
- Experience working with motion capture
- Strong skills in hand key animation
- Expert proficiency in Autodesk Motionbuilder, Maya or similar Animation software
- Great understanding of designing and maintaining Animation State Machines
- A problem solving mentality
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a multidisciplinary team
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with acting & not being afraid of doing your own motion capture inhouse
- Experience in scripting (Mel/Lua/Python for example)
- Experience in leading a team
