Game Workflow UX Design #1088

Our client game studio is looking for a UX Designer who is experienced in designing content creator workflows. As a Workflow UX Designer, you are central to defining an amazing user experience throughout our internal & proprietary content creator workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Technical Art Director, Lead Engineers, and Content Leads to create excellent user experiences throughout our proprietary tools/systems.
• Work across various content teams to ensure consistency and excellence in usability, interaction, and quality throughout our tool chain.
• Implement and iterate on UX Designs & flows, creating wire-frames and UX mockups/prototypes to articulate the desired experience to a wide audience.
• Understand the various needs of the content creation teams to ensure we are delivering on a compelling and intuitive product experience for all users.
• Understand the collaborative nature of game tools while designing the wireframes and UI.

Network Requirements

During WFH or if remote, the following is required for this type of position:

• Internet speed of at least 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps, wired connection preferred, to ensure work is not impacted by connectivity/latency issues
  • Make sure to run and repeat speed tests throughout the day, as it can fluctuate during peak hours
  • Candidates must provide a screenshot of their speed test result
  • Agency must include speed test screenshot as part of the submission process for consideration
• If candidate does not currently meet the network requirement:
  • Candidate is committing to meeting the network requirement by their start date if an offer is received and mutually accepted
  • Internet upgrade reimbursement eligibility criteria and guidelines are available for reference

Requirements

• Exceptional understanding of information architecture, UX flow, layout, hierarchy and fundamental UX design principles.
• Understanding of interaction design for complex interactive technical applications.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to quickly grasp new technology, workflows, and software.
• High focus on user centric design.
• Working to solicit and react to feedback from the user base, with the tenacity to produce several rounds of iteration in pursuit of the best UX Design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels and disciplines (art, design, engineering, production, etc.).
• Online portfolio to demonstrate previously shipped designs for interactive products.
• 2+ years of interaction and UX Design experience.
• Advanced prototyping capabilities in UX/UI wireframing and prototyping tools (Sketch, Balsamiq, Axure, etc)
• Experience using current gen game development tools (Unreal, Unity, CryEngine, Lumberyard, Frostbite, Snowdrop, Anvil, etc.)

Bonus

• Experience implementing design in XAML or HTML.
• Experience using 3D modelling/rendering software (e.g. Maya, blender etc.)
• Experience in iconography and 2D UI Art.
• Familiarity with shipping a game in a AAA environment.
• Passion for and knowledge of games, you play the latest and greatest, and can speak to what qualities make a great game.
