Role Overview
Have you ever dreamed of having your writing seen by millions? Now is your chance: Glu Toronto, the studio behind the smash hit Kim Kardashian: Hollywood , is hiring team members for a new interactive narrative title! As a Game Story Editor you'll be helping create our next hit game by writing and designing original, innovative story content. You will work closely with writers, designers, producers, engineers, and artists during the production of our new title to create stories as needed.
Responsibilities
- Create story content for a new game, including writing (narrative/dialogue design), copy editing, and basic level design
- Create story plans, and execute on those plans in a timely manner
- Brainstorm new ideas for stories
- Creatively collaborate with a Storyboard Artist to create holistically appealing stories
- Guide, collaborate with, and give feedback to remote writers
- Work with game designers to ensure game content meets wider gameplay and product goals
- Quickly address feedback and revisions to submitted written work
- Work with engineers, artists, QA testers as needed to achieve game story goals and quality
Qualifications
- Superb written communication skills (English), and dialogue/scriptwriting skills
- Familiarity with film/TV industry standard screenplay formatting
- A portfolio or equivalent that clearly demonstrates the above two points
- Proficiency with office suites/software (primarily spreadsheets, word-processors, and diagramming/charts)
- Industry experience working in games (ideally in the casual/social space)
Preferred Skills
- A relevant bachelor's degree or diploma
- Rudimentary programming basics (such as HTML or XML) a bonus
