On being a Game Intelligence Analyst (GIA) at Ubisoft Toronto
The Game Intelligence Analyst (GIA) transforms player data into insights. You will work with game teams to understand their telemetry/tracking needs, collect piles of data (both pre and post-launch) to answer those needs, and transform that data into actionable findings that inform critical decisions and enhance the player experience.
Join the inter-disciplinary Ubisoft Toronto User Research Lab as our very first Game Intelligence Analyst and directly support AAA game production by being the point of contact for all things DATA.
The daily life of a Game Intelligence Analyst (GIA) at Ubisoft Toronto
- Work with game teams to determine their telemetry needs and translate these into actionable trackable elements
- Support data collection from both pre-launch and post-launch initiatives and validate the quality of collected data
- Analyze, synthesize and interpret player data to identify trends, develop insights, and inform decisions
- Provide teams with Impactful and compelling visuals with strong storytelling
- Develop and implement KPI dashboards to provide strategic and operational support for game teams
- Research, design, implement and validate models and cutting-edge algorithms to analyze diverse sources of data that explain past player behaviours and forecast future ones
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the data collection systems
- Share expertise with the broader User Research group and other data teams
- Learn, implement and share new methodologies
What it takes to make it
- BSc or BA in quant fields (Business, Economics, Math, Stats, CS preferred – advanced degrees welcome
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar position or any other relevant experience
- Confident in analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets with a variety of tools
- Experience in visualizing and communicating results to a variety of stakeholders (including non-technical ones)
- SQL and Python and excited to learn new programming languages where needed
- Experience in creating compelling dashboards in Tableau/PowerBI or other visualization tools
- Proven track record in similar roles, ideally in gaming or tech industries
- Detail-oriented with ability to problem-solve with creativity
- Excellent communication skills - comfortable in explaining complex ideas in a clear manner
- Passionate about data and while enjoying fast-paced environments
