What You’ll Do:
As our Game Economy Designer, you will be responsible for determining and understanding what makes our game appealing and enjoyable for our customers while identifying and developing opportunities to drive purchases. You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining game economies, including design, balancing and optimisation (alongside Monetisation). You’ll work closely with the Product, Design and Monetisation teams to develop and implement balancing strategies to improve user experience and monetisation. You will constantly assess game performance and use the available data to provide recommendations on relevant changes and optimisations. You will:
- Identify the potential revenue drivers in the game economy and outline how they should be maximised
- Manage a healthy economy by adjusting sinks and faucets based on data and monetisation strategy
- Create game economy simulations to predict the result and player responses to changes
- Draft and maintain clear and well-presented game design documentation
- Balance all virtual products within the game economy
- Work closely with the design team to maximise all relevant free-to-play mechanics within the game
- Regularly providing user feedback and price point tuning to the development team based on play-testing, both during game development and post-release
- Analyse the evolution of defined metrics to highlight any issues with and/or opportunities for monetisation
- Suggest game design improvements or enhance the customer experience
- Build the main progression and economy systems in order to make the game a long-term viable product
About you:
You’ll be an experienced Game Economy Designer with a passion for analytical game design and both economy and monetisation skills - especially in casual, free-to-play mobile games. You’ll be energetic, enthusiastic, well-organised and collaborative in your approach to design. You’ll have:
- A positive, open and personable approach to working within a team
- 4+ experience as Game Economy Designer or Game Balancer
- Superior level experience with Excel
- Deep, up-to-date knowledge of the free-to-play market, both canvas and mobile
- A highly-tuned awareness and understanding of gameplay and what makes it work
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong econometrics skills and the ability to model problems into quantitative systems, and draw qualitative conclusions out of quantitative data
- The ability to formulate ratios and indexes specific to the game, identifying key weaknesses and strengths in its economy design
- The ability to formulate effective and innovative selling strategies to improve the financial performance
- An understanding of client/server architecture and data collecting pipeline and mining
- A passion for gaming
