We’re looking for a talented industry-seasoned game designer with some economy chops to join our team. You’ve worked in the game industry as a game designer, you understand how the taps and sinks work in a free-to-play game and you’ve got a passion for casual games.
This is a full-time position based in-house at our Toronto, ON. studio, no remote candidates will be considered at this time .
Responsibilities:
- Create game play proposals with the producerCreate flows and functional wireframes of game play and economy features
- Work with the monetization analyst to create economic systems and models that drive revenue and increase challenge with the right amount of rewards
- Work with monetization analyst to build functional economic models that demonstrate predicted outcomes of purchase funnels
- Work with monetization analyst to iterate on reward amounts to create the best balance of revenue and retention
- Recommend improvements to our economy, features and new ways they can work. Be the owner of and contributor towards pricing of purchasables
- Alter and adjust in-game credits and debits to the best possible economy model. Build both the micro and macro economy models
- Explore micro segmentation for the player and recommend new and useful better segments to use for our features. Build and run simulations and predictive models to forecast ahead the results of changes to content
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience working with data and economic balancing on a top tier mobile game
- Ability to craft a functional game economy in excel so that you can predict long term outcomes
- Deep understanding of mining meta-game, ability to time content unlock through progression
- Design data tracking of game features to preserve details on user behavior, including resource flow and player choices
- Engineer data mining Strong data analysis skills using spreadsheets and querying databases
- Strong understanding of SQL or Redshift and proficiency in data visualizatio.
- Strong attention to detail and proven analytical skills. Deep understanding of free-to-play game economies and how they intersect with game design
Nice To Haves
- Experience working on a Top 100 free-to-play mobile game
- Ability to develop machine learning models to classify and predict user behavior, informing the decision-making process for new features and updates
