Interns will be given the choice to work remotely or relocate to the internship location. The company will cover relocation services and will provide a living stipend to supplement housing, utility, and office supply costs.

Player Profile

  • Must be a current student pursuing their bachelors, masters, or PhD and graduating December 2023 or later.
  • Available for a 12-week internship starting in late May or late June.

Internship Opportunities

Gameplay: Partner across teams developing gameplay, graphics, audio, and systems for our games. You will be working on a shipping title, with a mentor, on a team managing multiple projects against competing deadlines. It may be the biggest challenge you have faced, but your strong technical skills, initiative, and commitment will get you through.

  • Proficient in a programming language, preferably C++ or C#.
  • Knowledge of mathematics for 3D graphics, particularly linear algebra.
  • An eagerness to collaborate and innovate on game side code.
  • A passion for significantly impacting game development.
  • Strong communication.
  • Proven game programming experience (personal or professional).

Network: Work in a team that connects millions of players across the world to unique and relevant experiences. Networking engineers address some of the most technically complicated problems in video game development. Be on the forefront of addressing them.

  • Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably C++ or C#.
  • A strong desire to pioneer on innovative network technology.
  • Familiarity with how netcode works.

Tools: Help us b uild the tools we use to c reate our games. Create user experiences for proprietary tools and provide unique value to a small team of passionate engineers. We help content creators be really creative , really fast .

  • Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably C++ or C#.
  • Knowledge of WPF.
  • A strong desire to significantly impact the way games are made.

Automation: This team supports the continuous development, automation, and improved workflows and iteration times for our studios.

  • Solid understanding of C++ and/or C#.
  • Comfortable working in Unix and Windows.
  • Strong understanding of Python, Bash, and/or JavaScript.
  • Understanding of git.
  • Docker knowledge is a plus.
  • Game programming experience (personal or professional).
  • Experience programming in at least one scripting language (Lua, Python, Perl, etc.).

Graphics : Build upon advancements in graphics technology to push the boundaries of what’s possible for future games. This is an amazing opportunity to get exposure to the most sophisticated graphics tools, and for you to bring your innovative ideas into the fold.

  • Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably C++.
  • Knowledge of mathematics for 3D graphics, particularly linear algebra.
  • A passion for computer graphics technology and game engine development.
  • Interest in programming for modern graphics backends ( e.g DirectX 12, Vulkan, Metal).

Mobile Engineering : Develop new features and systems for our upcoming mobile applications/games, coordinating across teams with designers, artists, and other engineers. Everyone on the team is empowered to influence the direction of the product, and the ideal candidate will have a passion to enhance quality and player experience.

  • Strong programming skills (C#, .NET Core and Standard).
  • Working knowledge of the Unity platform, performance analysis, and code optimization.
  • Experience with implementing game feature logic in a client/server environment.

Server Engineering : Are you an engineer who has a strong passion for gaming, programming, and finding simple, elegant solutions to complex problems? Take this opportunity to help our server teams optimize our game services and servers for current and future Blizzard titles.

  • Proficient in at least one programming language, preferably C++ or C#.
  • Knowledge of Python and SQL.
  • Player-oriented approach and an aim to build operationally excellent services.

Build Engineering: Join our Build Engineering team to focus on coordinating the end-to-end creation of a Call of Duty franchise game. You will work within our ecosystem of services that communicate with one another to provide the game content coding and automate the build process.

  • Knowledge and application of C#.
  • Strong understanding of Python.
  • A self-starter with great communication skills.

User Interface (UI): Join our User Interface team and work directly on the “front lines” to create the best possible experience for our players, including live ops pages, in-store game pages, events, and leader boards.

  • Experience with C and C++.
  • Familiarity with Unreal and Java/Javascript.
  • A team player that has a passion for problem-solving.

Your Mission

  • Work with engineers on one of Activision Blizzard's award-winning franchises.
  • Work closely with your team to design, implement, and debug software in C++ and other languages that drive the next generation of game development.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $20.00 - $50.00 Hourly. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
