Game Designer (new mobile game)

Wargaming MS-1 studio is looking for a Game Designer to work on a new mobile multiplayer shooter on Unreal Engine slated for a global launch. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the game development through all its stages – from prototype up to release – with the team of professionals experienced in the development of AAA titles for Western players.

MS-1 is Wargaming’s premier mobile development studio behind World of Tanks Blitz, a renowned cross-platform shooter boasting over 140 million downloads worldwide.

MS-1 is a multi-site studio with primary offices in Minsk, Moscow, Vilnius, Berlin, and currently employs over 350 professionals of various backgrounds and experience across all disciplines, including development, publishing, and operations. This cultural diversity helps deliver games that click with different audiences around the globe.

What will you do?

• Design systems/content following the creative and game direction
• Create clear and actionable design documentation for the development team
• Prototype and test the game mechanics using UE4
• Be a champion and driving force for the features/content you are in charge of, always pushing to improve the quality and fun of the game
• Be involved in cross-functional collaboration with other departments (art, programming, production, QA)
• Aim to provide innovation and show understanding of the industry standards

What are we looking for?

• 1+ year of Game Design experience (ideally on midcore/hardcore projects)
• Solid understanding of at least one game design area: good experience with moment-to-moment gameplay (3Cs, weapons, abilities, and etc.) or session-to-session gameplay (economy, progression, customization, and etc.)
• Positive attitude and ability to accept feedback, working in a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communicator (spoken and written) with good interpersonal skills
• Upper-intermediate English to participate in daily meetings and discussions with English-speaking teammates
• Be aware of industry trends, know a wide range of games across multiple platforms and genres with general understanding of the main game design approaches and principles
• Be able to manage efficiently time and priorities
• Self-starter

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Production experience with Unreal Engine
• GaaS development experience
• UX/UI design understanding
• Level design understanding
