We’re looking for a Game Designer to join our team and collaborate with us to update and expand our VR game Captain ToonHead vs The Punks from Outer Space , one of the less than 300 games that are currently part of the Oculus Meta Quest store. https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/3697657733661230/

Description

The ideal person for the position will pay close attention to the feedback of players in the different stores in which the game is distributed, as well as reviews and "Let’s play" sessions that are published about the game, to be able to see clearly the most important improvements the game requires. This analysis will be complemented by the use of analytics.

Requirements

  • Have participated in the design of at least one game that has been developed (it can be in an academic environment or a personal project).
  • 1+ years of demonstrable experience, like GameDev in at least 2 of these fields:

- Prototyping (programming)

- UX Design (Interaction Design and/or Information Architecture)

- System design (Gameplay and/or Metagame)

- Balancing (economy and/or difficulty).

- Producing.

- Narrative Design and/or Scriptwriting.

- Level Design (Blocking and/or scripting).

- Content design (powerUps, customization element, weapons).

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent active listening skills and team collaboration.
  • Be a gamer.
  • Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assimilate feedback and game analytics as a starting point for the system and mechanical design or improvement.
  • Create and keep updated design documentation.
  • Communicate and collaborate with GameDevs from other disciplines for the implementation of new or improved mechanics and systems.
  • Monitor and follow established production processes.
  • Participate in internal playtests.
  • Play and deconstruct references with a direct application to the game.
  • Your responsibilities may include:

- Cooperative design and iterative evolution of game mechanics.

- Level design.

- Balancing of economy.

- Balancing of progression.

- Content design for established systems.

- Narrative design.
