Job Description
Summary:
The position will mainly be about Technical Design (similar to LDTD, but applied to GD features), that means ensure that all Design features are set up and functional in the Editor and in game.
Responsibilities:
- Integration of Game Design data
- Basic set up and basic parameters
- Set up of the features in Gym maps, Auto test maps, …
- Creation/check of special set up (LD specific set up, scripted, …)
- Communicate with LD team to ensure they are using the right set up method (email and documentation)
- Learn about existing features in the past series and build on that to design more advanced features, from document writing to final implementation
- Work with designers and design leadership through all stages of development to own and implement systems and gameplay features that improve content and functionality of the game.
- Proactively communicate and work with a passionate team of programmers, animators, artists and designers through development.
- Put yourself in the user's shoes and test the functionality of your design, continuously collect feedback, and iterate for optimization
- Design data set up and integration
Qualifications
- 2-3 years + of game/level design work experience (console game is preferred)
- Good level of English (written English is very important)
- Communication skills are very important (especially written / documentation, for quick and efficient problem solving in a CoDev context)
- Technical skill are very important (computer science background)
- Design skills (analytical and creative) are important, but we can take time to develop them.
- Need to have a strong self-study ability, can dive down to concentrate on the editor
- Have a passion for games, not only can play but also can analyze the core gameplay
