Job Title: Systems Designer

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Standing Stone Games is seeking a Systems Designer to join the Dungeons and Dragons Online team. DDO is known for its highly complex and customizable web of character build options and other related systems. The Systems Designer will primarily work to add new and exciting features to broaden that intricate web without disrupting game balance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the systems and content of DDO.
- Designing and implementing new classes, races, feats, enhancement trees, loot, etc.
- Revamping already existing systems that have fallen out of vogue in current game meta.
- Working with the rest of the Systems team to coordinate overall game systems cohesion.
- Working closely with the Art team to ensure your features meet both internal aesthetic standards and licensor requirements.
- Working closely with Quality Assurance to eliminate any bugs found.
REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated strong systems design sensibilities.
- Ability to learn proprietary tools.
- Ability to receive feedback on features you’ve made as well as provide feedback for features created by other members of the systems team.
- Highly motivated and self-directed, with a drive to perform well and take initiative on tasks.
PLUSES
- Experience developing for a live service product (MMO, Action, or RPG title preferred) especially a stable project far past launch.
- Familiarity with tabletop Dungeons and Dragons.
- Experience with custom scripting.
- Experience with version control such as Perforce.
- Experience with administrative software such as Jira
