Game Designer - Arctic

Are you a Game Designer with a broad set of skills that is willing to experiment, come up with your own ideas on how to iterate on already existing Paradox games as well as help the new titles? Then this position may be for you!
We are looking for a driven yet humble team member with a growth mindset that will be working on a strategic initiative for Paradox to improve value for the players of Paradox titles. This position enables you to bring in your own ideas on a very experimental and iterative level in close collaboration with the Project Lead and the game team.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing game content in cooperation with the team
- Work closely with the Artists and Programmers to make sure the design is properly implemented according to the specification
- Research ways to optimize existing Paradox games
- Designing and evaluating results of A/B tests together with analytics
- Defining and communicating what assets are required for the game content
- Writing text for in-game content in English that thematically fits within the game
- Resolving scripting and in-game text bugs and issues in the game files as they arise
Required Qualifications
- Professional game industry experience (3+ years)
- Experience with multiple aspects of game design (Working with and optimizing KPIs, System Design, UI Design, Content Design)
- Advanced english skills
- Deliver clear and thorough design specifications
- Ability to translate high-level goals into tangible mechanics & assets
- Experience with strategy games
Desirable Qualifications
- Scripting/programming/modding experience
- Familiarity with Paradox games
This role will entail handling multiple projects and with tasks that don’t necessarily have clear solutions from the start, making a structured approach to time management key. You will be working in a team where everyone supports each other and is given the freedom and responsibility to take charge of a task and deliver.
