Game Data Analyst

Wargaming is looking to hire a proactive, passionate, and goal-oriented Game Data Analyst able to bolster the marketing and finance directions in the World of Tanks team of product analysts.

We gather various types of information on what is happening within the “tank universe”—from economic and financial data to detailed battle statistics including the coordinates of every shot taken and every tank’s movement in battle, interface telemetry, and much more. Everything is stored in the same data warehouse and is available for analysis in a 24/7 mode.

You will work together with the Data Warehouse team managing the storage, the infrastructure, and the reporting system, and also with more than 60 other analysts around the world making up the Wargaming Global Analyst Network.

What will you do?

• Formalize and conduct research for producers, product/project/marketing managers, game designers, developers, QA specialists, and artists
• Develop metrics and methodologies needed to prepare analytical reports assessing the efficiency of marketing campaigns, game modes, events, and sales launched; seek out anomalies and insights allowing to increase the efficiency of the product or its parts
• Model possible results and risks of new game modes and events, marketing campaigns, and provide analytical support throughout their entire development cycle (from concept to release)
• Create and automate analytical instruments and fast data delivery interfaces (dashboards) showing the state of the product (and its subsystems) to the management and teams
• Hold presentations for completed research, and fill in the analytical product knowledge base

What are we looking for?

• Experience formalizing business tasks into research plans, creating analytical reports and presenting them
• Understanding of principles and methods of data mining and building econometric models; knowledge of mathematical statistics and probability theory
• Knowledge of SQL at an advanced user level
• Experience with R/Python and popular data analysis and processing libraries
• 2+ years’ experience in similar positions

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Ready to learn and to absorb and systemize large amounts of data over short periods of time
• Experience optimizing and assessing the efficiency of marketing campaigns and/or building econometric models for business planning
• Experience with at least one data visualization solution (Tableau, Qlik, MS Power BI, or other)
• Experience with Cloudera Impala / Hive, Oracle SQL
• Able to talk, read, and write in English (at an Intermediate or higher level)
• Versatile gaming experience, including World of Tanks
