Game Content Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for writing internal reviews and evaluating games in different stages of development. The analyst will write and compile reports that will assist development in identifying areas of improvement based on latest industry trends and best practices. He or she will also compile and write reports for the wider group to help other departments identify the state of a game and how to best position it within the market. The candidate will collaborate with Production, Brand Marketing, and both internal and external development teams to manage game evaluations for Bandai Namco's PC and console games.

Flexible, Remote, and Work from Home options are available for this position until approximately April 2022. Afterwards we expect all employees to join us at our new offices in Irvine, California where a hybrid work schedule will be observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Write game evaluations and mock reviews for games in various stages of development to identify areas of improvement and help steer development towards creating higher quality products
• Manage and coordinate with relevant departments and developers on the execution of various user research tests, including but not limited to game evaluations, mock reviews, and play tests that require multiple people, including external entities.
• Collaborate with Producers and external entities to execute evaluations within the office and from remote, with an ongoing effort to maintain efficiency, confidentiality, and security during each process.
• Follow market trends and identify the key success factors of popular games to develop our business, in addition to helping create and maintain latest best practice documentation based on game industry trends, user research, and 1 st party recommendations.
• Travel to external developer or agency’s office to assist in the execution of any onsite focus groups and/or play tests.
• Coordinate with various departments for finance and legal requirements.
• Assist with milestone reviews and post-mortem assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of experience in the game industry, ideally with a background in editorial reviewing and scoring games of various genres.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and able to communicate difficult analysis in a clear and concise manner to other parties.
• Experience and knowledge of the different stages of production and development of video games.
• Ensure that research deliverables address both product development and business strategies, as well insight into promotional positioning.
• Ability to perform under flexible work schedules to deal with worldwide timeframes.
• Keep current with new and emerging game software and hardware technologies.
• Passion for video games.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
