Web Tools Developer

At Space Ape we believe in making innovative, high quality games that are fun to play and even more fun with your friends. One secret of the Space Ape recipe is the ability to give the player a rich and fast moving experience, based on constantly evolving games. This is possible with a design that is at the same time flexible and configurable. To handle the flexibility and the ability to change live game content Space Ape has built an entire infrastructure capable of configuring all the aspects of the game, from the visual content to the creation of game events.

This is what we call Live Operations or simply LiveOps.

As web tool developer at Space Ape you will be working closely with the game teams to evolve this infrastructure, fulfil its operational needs and empower the team members to better do their job.

You will be also encouraged to explore new directions in the game and in the technical side of the product, looking for specific solutions and generic ones that can be shared across games.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for web tool front-end development in an agile team and cross teams
• Working with cloud/web technologies to develop game content infrastructure and tools to support Live Operations and A/B testing

• Creating elegant, reusable code and unit tests in web technology - primarily based on React
• Working alongside other members of the team to gather requirements and to help express technical concepts in a clear and accessible way
• Mentoring other developers and knowledge sharing

Requirements

• Excellent web engineering skills (React, Core Javascript, building tools, CSS3 & preprocessors)
• Deliver high-quality well-tested software
• Good at pair programming
• Good communicator
• Product and user oriented
• Experience of working in an Agile development environment
• Experience working in a client-server environment

Bonus points for

• Having a working knowledge of Java/Scala
• Having a working knowledge of C#
• Having a reputation in the industry for excellence in creating / contributing to open source projects
