Job Description
Ubisoft Halifax is searching for our newest addition to our growing Programming Team! As a Full-Stack Programmer, you will work closely with a lead or server architect as well as a team of Server Programmers to build and maintain the backend services that keep our popular titles running smoothly!
Our studio is looking for an enthusiastic developer who loves games as much as the technology that drives them! This person will bring their curiosity, and ingenuity to add to our small yet diverse team!
Main Responsibilities
- Work with your team lead to implement Full-Stack web applications, features and infrastructure.
- Translate designs and technical documentation into working code and REST API's or web services.
- Set-up, deploy, monitor and maintain environments for teams responsible for online micro-services in the cloud and our cloud-based datacenters.
- Respond to incident reports and follow best-practices for live scenarios
- Develop and maintain new RESTful API's for use by the client development team to meet feature goals.
- Play an integral role in the development of applicable web-based administration tools and dashboards.
- Help guide junior developers towards best-practices and server development;
Qualifications
- A graduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, diploma or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years professional experience in an applicable software development or server admin role.
- A demonstrated passion for quality software architecture and best practices!
- Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, and related tools.
- Experience developing with cloud-based services (S3, Lambda, Terraform, Elasticsearch).
- A working knowledge of web frameworks (preferably React, Spring Boot), as well as Data Structure and Algorithms.
- An advanced understanding of Database Architecture and administration (SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- A familiarity of source control systems such as git.
- Experience with container technology; Docker, Kubernetes.
Bonus Experience;
- A demonstrated knowledge of network terminologies (e.g. DNS, Routing, Firewalls, Proxies, etc.).
- Experience using and/or managing open-source technologies.
- Experience with observability, Prometheus, Granfa, Kibana, Jaeger as well as CI/CD pipelines.

We are located in the Heart of the City overlooking the beautiful waterfront, in the historic and Iconic Keith's Brewery.
