Overview
This engineer will work on the web platform for games distribution. Our Arena product enables business partners to host game catalogues on subdomains which drive traffic and increase user engagement. This product is quite successful and a full stack engineer who joins the team will work on front and back-end feature development. Your focus will be on building an interactive environment where casual gamers can have fun and share joy.
You will work on dynamic front end components and program endpoints on the server to pass and process data between the user and our platforms. You will optimize page load speed and pursue a mastery of modern high performance web code. You will write A/B tests and join in on our relentless data driven iteration and innovation cycles. We create systems that engage millions of users a day.
This role will join an all-star team including a driven product owner, a next level project manager, a senior engineering manager, a senior software engineer, 2 middle software engineers, and a dedicated QA engineering team. You will be directly involved in projects that engage with key company stakeholders including: the CEO, President, Partner Success, Creative, Marketing, Data, and of course the other amazing and talented engineers from the games and web platform teams.

This role is open to candidates based in Portugal and will be 100% remote with in person events optional.
For those in Portugal, business hours are 9-18 WEST (UTC+1).
Responsibilities
- Development of web applications and websites of varying degrees of complexity, from feature rich single page applications to internal libraries used by other developer teams.
- Development of web services and well-structured API's.
- Design of data base structures and schemas.
- Collaborating with front-end developers on the integration of UX elements and backend service-connected functionality.
- Developing high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code.
- Keeping informed of advancements in the field of website engineering.
Requirements
- Strong Knowledge of traditional topics in Computer Science such as: data structures, optimization, and the client-server model.
- Two or more years of backend/frontend development experience with official work in companies and teams.
- Backend: TypeScript, Node, Express OR .NET Core
- Frontend: TypeScript, React, Storybook, SASS
- 2+ years of professional experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Work experience building RESTful API's.
- Work experience with PostgreSQL/MSSQL/NoSQL.
- Work experience with code organization, MVC, atomic principles, OO and functional programming.
- Integrations between third party libraries and API's such as authentication and transaction systems.
- Deep understanding of native JS, HTTP Methods, HTTP Codes, Browser DOM, and Virtual DOM.
- ES6, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Webpack, NPM.
