Software Engineer, Budget Based Buying

The opportunity
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join Budget Based Buying team to work on budget-aware bidding strategies for Unity Ads.
Unity Ads is a solution helping game developers to monetize their games and/or acquire new gamers. Our real-time bidding platform has:
- Over 100 000 active campaigns, and we are growing really fast
- About 60 000 ad requests per second from the devices around the world
What you’ll be doing
The Budget Based Buying team implements strategies to ensure the best possible way of acquiring new gamers with given constraints. Together with other skilled engineers and data scientists you’ll be:
- Designing, and developing solutions to address customer’s problems
- Ensuring service scalability and reliability through effective code and data storage design
- Ensuring high-quality by writing tests, developing standards, and reviewing code changes
- Iterating fast with the small steps and deploying production several times a day using continuous delivery pipelines
We improve our technology stack constantly to support high-throughput and high-availability of our services, and this is how it looks like currently:
- Google Cloud Platform
- Kubernetes and Helm
- Terraform provisioning
- Services built with Golang
- Redis
- Kafka, Cloud PubSub message queues
Because we often collaborate with other teams, sometimes we also give to the services and pipelines backed with NodeJS, Python, Mongo, Cloud Bigtable and many others.
What we’re looking for
- Knowledge of one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to JavaScript, Java, C/C++, C#, Python, Ruby or Golang.
- Determined approach and experience in taking initiatives and making decisions
- Understanding different data storage engines, their differences and limitations
- Quality assurance via test automation and code reviews
- Understanding of microservices architecture / distributed systems

- Experience with the technologies used in our stack
- Interest in building and maintaining infrastructure used for services and databases
