The mission of the Unreal Cloud Services team is to help create the ultimate suite of content creation tools with native support for collaboration and cloud. We believe that the future of content creation is made of small, connected virtual teams coming together for projects that utilise tools to considerably simplify the process of creating high-quality content.
What you’ll do
As a Lead for the Unreal Cloud Services web team, you will be accountable for full-stack deliverables of the team and therefore handle Project Management as well as day-to-day execution, guide technical and architectural choices, ensure the team is highly collaborative and effective, and finally mentor and help team members grow their skills.
In this role, you will
- Be working on large scale web applications with a number of modern technologies, most notably React
- Lead the entire web function and be responsible for effectively recruiting, mentoring, and retaining your great team
- You will be accountable for the web frontend deliverables for our brand new and industry leading cloud-native products like MetaHuman Creator, Twinmotion Cloud and several other new projects
- Be responsible for project management as well as day-to-day execution, guide technical and architectural choices
- Ensure the team is highly collaborative and effective
What we’re looking for
- 8+ years of work experience
- 4+ years of experience as an engineering leader
- A solid knowledge of backend architecture and API design is ideal
- Someone who is familiar with working in a microservices environment
- Excellent cross-discipline communication skills and ability to communicate and explain trade-offs with non-engineers
- Someone who has build an engineering team from scratch
- Experience designing, defining and rolling out software engineering and project management processes
- The ability to do basic DevOps work in AWS is desirable but not essential
- Someone who is user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These traits equal success at Epic and influence everything we do.
