Job Title: Front-End Software Development Engineer
Job Summary: The Front-End Software Engineer will be instrumental in developing new features and enhancements in websites within the Pokemon.com program. The Pokemon.com program is a key line of business within Digital Marketing that promotes premium digital content for Pokémon products such as Video Games, Trading Card Game, Pokédex, and News Articles. This role will be part of an agile team streamlining and automating pokemon.com operations, including support and integration with CMS platforms, web technologies, and services.
This role will work with members inside and outside the Technology Organization to ensure new features are delivered with high quality. The Front-End Software Engineer will work at various levels of the technology stack, focusing on web technologies and UI/UX.

What you’ll do
- Drive the front-end software design and implementation on various websites such as pokemon.com, tcg.pokemon.com, etc.
- Provide technical guidance on various web frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Partner and exchange best practices on front-end technologies with other developers.
- Translate business requirements into engineering tasks that can be estimated and completed in an Agile software system.
- Work closely with non-technical stakeholders in fast feedback loops.
- Work on multi-discipline teams to solve complex problems.
- Write testable, maintainable, and well-documented code. Code quality comes first.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (WCAG 2.0 and TypeScript knowledge a plus).
- 2+ years of experience with Python (Django experience is a plus) or other server-side development language such as PHP or Node.js.
- Experience with database systems such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience using modern javascript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular. Development platform (Next/Nuxt/Gatsby) knowledge is a plus.
- Experience developing with Bit (bit.dev) is a plus.
- Experience with UI/UX design is a plus.
- Experience with AWS CloudFront, CloudFormation, and Lambda is a plus.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
- Strong understanding of content management best practices, site performance optimization, OOP, design patterns, and continuous integration processes.
- Experience with internationalization and localization.
- Experience with Agile Methodology and Test Driven Development preferred.
- Practice driving conflict toward agreeable action, whether with stakeholders, peers, or managerial chain.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent working experience.
