Front End Engineer

We are looking for a Front End Engineer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining our experience on all our web properties. The ideal candidate would have a passion for and knowledge of React development and/or web development in general. The candidate would also have a proven track record of web application development to support and fulfill our strategic objectives. We are looking for someone who is passionate about building great software, enjoys working with a team of talented developers, and who is eager to take on big challenges.

*In this climate of constant change, candidates must be able to work and telecommunicate from home, as well as be able to work onsite if/when that becomes an option.*

Responsibilities:

• Work with other client teams to develop and maintain existing platform for VOD and Community
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
• Help in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units

Qualifications:

• BSCS or related field with 3+ years (6+ years without) of practical engineering experience in building and running web applications
• Experience with Javascript development
• Experience creating cross-browser compatible web-based UI’s utilizing JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
• Experience with data transmission using AJAX, JSON, XML
• Experience with React JavaScript framework
• Experience working with Service Oriented Architecture and RESTful web services
• Knowledge of Responsive Design fundamentals
• Experience with one or more Automated UI testing frameworks (Karma, Mocha, Selenium, Jest, etc.)
• Understanding of web technologies (HTTP, web servers (Nginx, Apache)
• Ability to turn mockups from designers into code
• Understanding of client-side performance, how to evaluate and how to debug
• Build and bundling tools (Gulp, Grunt, Webpack)
Bonus
• Passionate about design systems with a focus on styled components and newer css features
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Experience with multiple Javascript frameworks such as Angular, Backbone, or Vue.js
• Continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• State Containers for Javascript applications (Redux)
• NodeJS, Express Framework
• Experience using React Hooks
• Experience with mobile development (iOS, Android)
Basic
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Object Oriented Design and data structure knowledge
• Multitasking skills, ability to pay attention to detail and maintaining focus under a fast paced environment
