Front End Engineer

We are looking for a front end engineer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining our shopping experience on Shopify, as well as other web properties. The ideal candidate would have a passion for and knowledge of shopify development and/or shopping in general. The candidate would also have a proven track record of shopify and web application development to support and fulfill our strategic objectives. We are looking for someone who is passionate about building great software, enjoys working with a team of talented developers, and who is eager to take on big challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the shopify store, integrations with 3rd parties, any development needed for specific product drops
• Work with other client teams to develop and maintain existing platform for VOD and Community
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
• Help in planning and delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units

Qualifications:

• BSCS or related field with 3+ years (6+ years without) of practical engineering experience in building and running web applications
• Experience with Shopify development
• Experience creating cross-browser compatible web-based UI’s utilizing JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
• Experience with data transmission using AJAX, JSON, XML
• Experience with React JavaScript framework
• Experience working with Service Oriented Architecture and RESTful web services
• Knowledge of Responsive Design fundamentals
• Experience with one or more Automated UI testing frameworks (Karma, Mocha, Selenium, Jest, etc.)
• Understanding of web technologies (HTTP, web servers (Nginx, Apache)
• Ability to turn mockups from designers into code
• Understanding of client-side performance, how to evaluate and how to debug
• Build and bundling tools (Gulp, Grunt, Webpack)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Object Oriented Design and data structure knowledge
• Multitasking skills, ability to pay attention to detail and maintaining focus under a fast paced environment
