Job Summary
Square Enix is one of the world’s leading publishers of video games. This role is based in the Digital Platform team, part of the Online Development department, who are responsible for developing the company’s online presence and tech tools. The successful candidate will be reporting into Digital Platform’s Senior Manager. The role will be focused on JavaScript front-end development for a key project.Key Deliverables
- Implement rich websites and front-end application allowing the final user to enjoy the experience whichever the device/platform of use.
- Translate technical specifications and designs into clean, reusable, and tested code.
- Advocate best practices and be proactive in proposing new approaches to improve the application’s capabilities.
- Apply behavioural and integration testing, as well as thorough monkey testing of the application code.

Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Proven professional front end development experience
- Experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS)
- Good working experience of HTML5 and CSS3 (including flexbox/grid, animations, mediaqueries, etc.)
- Extended working knowledge of JavaScript (ES6 & ES7) and React (or other frontend framework).
Desirable
- Computer science or software engineering university qualifications
- Knowledge of dos and don’ts of service workers
- Knowledge of server side languages (in particular PHP, Go)
- Knowledge of UX and accessibility principles
- Web development experience in some segment of the videogames industry
- Web development experience in a creative industry
