Freelance Creative Designer (Marketing)

Vela Games is Looking for a Talented Freelance Creative Designer (Marketing) to help grow our new game, Evercore Heroes!

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the core foundation of Vela Games; someone who is passionate about joining an early tight-knit team laser-focused on creating both a live service game & a brand from the ground up.

We want a creative generalist who is comfortable with video editing, graphic design and the production of marketing creative assets.

As a direct report to the Marketing Operations Lead, this person will be responsible for the creative services of a small marketing team. We are looking for an organised individual who can work with Marketing Lead and Community Manager to elevate and creatively implement ideas for communication and content strategy.

Duties will include providing assets for social media, e-mails and other forms of communication.

This is a 6 month contract (remote or onsite depending on candidate) with scope for permanent employment transition or extension as development approaches completion.

What You Will Do:

• Footage capture and production of teaser videos showing off our latest gameplay updates.
• Create engaging content such as memes (image macros, parody, photoshop, remix etc.) for our social accounts.
• Create Discord channel collateral, including but not limited to headers, emote edits, announcement & summary images, infographics.
• Concept, design and produce non-campaign specific creative assets to populate reactive content asset bank.
• Investigate and assess new workflows and techniques.

Requirements:

• Excellent interpersonal & communications skills
• A solid understanding of design, copy, and storytelling
• Hands-on experience in creative process, marketing, graphic design and advertising (including independent or personal projects)
• The ability to refine other people’s ideas as well and generating with new ones to create high performance creative
• Adobe tools proficiency, particularly Photoshop & Premier pro (non Adobe-equivalent experience also considered for video e.g. Davinci Resolve, Vegas Pro and Final Cut Pro)

Bonus Points:

• Ability to create artwork, digital paintings etc from scratch
• Ability to create animations either via traditional methods or puppeting exported game assets etc.
• Beginner to intermediate experience working with Maya based assets
