As the first engineer at Elsewhere, you'll do product-defining work across a variety of technically challenging disciplines, including: WebGL game development, real-time WebSocket authoritative game servers, real time audio & video streaming via WebRTC, and blockchain development in Solidity.

You'll need to be truly eager to develop new skills and create product features from start to finish. Expect to talk directly to users and participate meaningfully in product discussions about what solutions might look like, in addition to actually building, testing, documenting, and releasing it.

Elsewhere is built on TypeScript, Node.js, React, Phaser, Colyseus, and PostgreSQL. Experience with those specific technologies is not necessary.

You will:

• Build full-stack infrastructure for a complex real-time communications product
• Actively contribute and drive forward the architecture for Elsewhere
• Collaborate with others to build an experience that both wows the end user as well as other developers

Ideally, you have:

• Experience as a full-stack developer with a modern programming language like TypeScript, Ruby, Python, Rust, Go etc.
• Experience with a modern front-end framework like React, Angular, Elm, Vue etc.
• A generalist's mindset and a "no job is too small" attitude
• A taste for good user experience and desire to contribute to product direction
• The ability to reason about requirements and prioritize what is truly necessary

Bonus if you have:

• Experience with: game development or smart contract development
