About the Financial Controller position
Our growing small business is on the lookout for a Financial Controller to support us with financial planning, controlling and reporting. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is enthusiastic about developing standards and creating reporting routines. We are looking for someone with a hands-on approach, who doesn’t shy away from bookkeeping and isn’t a stranger to “reconciliation”.
Financial Controller responsibilities are:
- Develop and establish standard reporting routines in a growing international business
- Produce and review monthly reports, contribute to year-end closings and consolidation
- Provide financial support / modelling for (new) projects
- Support respective stakeholders and provide transparency on their budgets and performance; work with them on processes, budgets, reporting and cost control
- Deliver in-depth analyses and propose clear, actionable recommendations, with the aim of transparency, efficiency improvements and cost savings. Identify growth potentials.
- Drive and lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement of controlling processes
- Ongoing monitoring and analysis of cash flows + liquidity planning
- Set up automated and scalable systems, develop BI and reporting infrastructure
Financial Controller requirements are:
- Based in Germany
- Excellent German and fluent English language skills, both verbal and written
- Minimum 3 years of controlling experience in a fast-scaling startup environment, a leading audit firm, consulting or similar
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to drive key initiatives across departments
- Ability to carefully plan tasks and processes, set clear goals and follow-up on results
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially with Excel and Powerpoint
- Experience / interest in e-commerce businesses and/or year-end reporting is a plus
- Degree in business economics/administration with a focus on Controlling / Finance / Accounting preferred, but not necessary
