Our Studio
Ubisoft Toronto was founded in 2010 and has contributed to many award-winning Ubisoft brands including Assassin’s Creed®, Far Cry®, For Honor™ and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell®. In 2018, the team at Ubisoft Toronto developed its first new IP, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, a new technology that seamlessly blends physical and digital gameplay. In 2020, Ubisoft Toronto led the development of the newest game in the Watch Dogs franchise – Watch Dogs: Legion. This is the studio's most ambitious and initiative project to date. Ubisoft Toronto received praise for the tech and design work, for creating the first game in which you can play as anyone in an open world, and for its rich and detailed rendition of future London. Now, in 2021, Ubisoft Toronto on the verge of shipping Far Cry 6, the most ambitious Far Cry game to date, featuring the talented Giancarlo Esposito. On being a Financial Analyst at Ubisoft Toronto
You bring an understanding of financial metrics and the underlying fundamentals of a company’s financial statements. This understanding allows you to identify areas of focus, potential errors, and metrics that are out of line with what is expected. Your strong technical skills allow you to pull and manipulate data that aid you to do your analysis. You will be supporting accounting staff as they navigate through each quarter’s forecast responsibilities, helping them prepare for, and facilitate, meetings with budget owners. You will help prepare regular reports while also designing new and innovative ways to examine the numbers. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves. You are skilled at preparing visualizations to help demonstrate your findings concisely. You enjoy being part of a team and are willing to take on projects that work towards the Finance department's continuous improvement goals.
The daily life of a Financial Analyst at Ubisoft Toronto
Monthly closing support
- Review monthly financial actuals versus forecast, identifying anomalies and metrics that require attention/explanation;
- Prepare monthly department variance reports for directors;
- Organize and facilitate monthly meetings between Finance and department directors to discuss the variance reports;
- Perform monthly closing Peoplesoft and Hyperion updates/procedures.
Quarterly forecast support
- Prepare quarterly forecast templates for all department directors;
- Organize and facilitate quarterly re-forecast meetings between Finance and directors;
- Support the preparation of the quarterly headcount re-forecast model;
- Organize and facilitate all quarterly headcount forecast meetings;
- Manage and assemble the quarterly re-forecast presentation to headquarters;
- Support Controller and Finance Director on continuous improvement initiatives for the Finance department.
What it takes to make it
- A university business degree;
- Accounting designation (or working towards one) is a plus;
- Advanced MS Excel skills is a must;
- Visualization software skills (i.e. Tableau) is an asset;
- Database query experience is an asset;
- 3 years of experience in an analyst role;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management, organizational, and presentation skills;
- Open-minded, collaborative, attentive, dedicated, solution-oriented;
- Critical thinker, curious, resourceful;
- Enjoys sharing new discoveries with colleagues.
