Financial Analyst - Corporate Planning
San Mateo, CA
The PlayStation Corporate Planning team is looking for its next Financial Analyst superstar!
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial planning & analysis as part of the Global Corporate Planning team. Key tasks will include analyzing key trends and recommending potential strategies to management to ensure that we achieve our financial and non-financial targets. Business analysis & management reporting to be conducted on time and any business risks should be raised to PlayStation's management without delay.
Responsibilities:
- Lead SIE's annual (fiscal budget, mid-range plan), quarterly and monthly forecasting processes
- Develop thoughtful analysis and deliver key insights that support strategic decision-making
- Work with internal leadership team/partners as part of the monthly and quarterly reporting process
- Liaison with Corporate Planning counterparts in other regions (Europe and Japan) to understand the impact of local performance on global results
- Provide mentorship and feedback to other analysts within the team
- Partner with the Finance organizations to provide analysis in support of new or existing processes
- Recommend ways to automate reporting and streamline processes
Qualifications:
- Top-notch analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Takes initiative and ownership to ensure successful outcomes
- Ability to multitask and deliver against aggressive timelines
- Strong interest in internet and/or media & entertainment industries
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness to assist with a variety of tasks; able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting financial documents
- At least 3 years of related work experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Japanese language proficiency considered a plus but not essential
