We're looking for a Financial Accountant to join our team at Hypixel Studios , which collaborates remotely from around the world. As the Financial Accountant, you will be involved in the preparation of our monthly management accounts, reporting into our parent company and be responsible for managing the AP / AR process and tax returns as well as assisting with budgeting, forecasting, cashflows, statutory audit requirements and much more.
The ideal candidate for our finance team will help with the smooth operation of the finance function within the Studio. The candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties and help manage day-to-day finance tasks as part of the operations team.
Who you are:
- You are a qualified accountant who is either already industry experienced or is seeking your first move from practice
- You’re a problem solver, willing to roll up your sleeves and help in a wide-ranging and varied role
- You’re an excellent communicator and are passionate about working across disciplines to advocate for your craft
Some of your role:
- Work with the Finance Manager on a wide range of tasks
- Prepare monthly management accounts to a high standard
- Maintain and create finance related process docs for use within the Studio
- Manage AP workflows
- Assist in preparation of quarterly VAT returns
Essential Traits:
- Minimum of 2 years PQE
- Understanding of month end (and year end) close process
- Experience of completion of annual audit
- Excellent communication skills and the demonstrable ability to present and communicate finance concepts across game development teams
- Excellent problem solving skills; you take complex problem spaces and break them down into functional and actionable solutions
Bonus Traits:
- Experience of preparing accounts to IFRS requirements
- Experience of using accounting software (Oracle)
- An advocate for, and experience in implementing, financial controls
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets.
