Finance Systems Analyst

This hybrid role is principally being created to support the implementation of our new finance ERP, with ongoing responsibility for maintenance and upkeep of both the ERP and other core finance systems.
In addition to owning all finance systems, the successful applicant will be a hands-on member of the core finance team, supporting the Jagex revenue process by calculating and posting revenue journals at month end.
Team working
- Build and maintain strong lines of communication with the stakeholders in the wider finance, IT, and game operations teams.
- Liaise regularly with the Operations Finance Manager to ensure that new starters are correctly set up and configured within all relevant Finance solutions (NetSuite, SAP Concur Expense, SAP Concur Invoice) and leaver accounts are closed.
- Be an influential contributor to revenue and game package discussions, joining regular calls with the Product team.
- Work closely with the Analytics & Data Science and Payment Platforms teams, checking that we have a shared understanding of the underlying core data flows and their impact on reporting.
- Maintaining high standards of work with superb attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
- Building a constant mindset of Continuous Improvement for all processes and Finance systems
Finance Systems
- Administer and maintain our core finance systems, including our new ERP (Oracle NetSuite), SAP Concur Invoice and Expense, and our legacy Sage 200 accounting system.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the revenue process in the new ERP, with the goal being to make maximum use of automation tools.
- At the direction of the Head of Group Reporting, maintain update and align across our Group systems, an effective Chart of Accounts which enables us to develop our internal and external reporting.Regularly brief the finance team about any changes or developments relating to game revenues.
- Compile end-to-end process maps for all core finance operations processes, initially to support the implementation of the new ERP but with a longer-term mandate to assist in improving the controls environment.
- Referencing the documented processes, work with the Head of Group Reporting and Operations Finance Manager to identify control weaknesses and recommend changes to procedure and other mitigations as required.
- Proactively keep up-to-date with changes to functionality and support the upgrades
- Manage the testing and implementation of new and updated functionality in Oracle NetSuite as part of the twice annual maintenance upgrades. Also, ensuring that existing integrations are regression tested ahead of the upgrade taking place.
- Manage any data import or export requirements
- Being the Finance Systems Champion to support any challenges being encountered and any continuous improvement of processes to maximise the benefits of the solutions and always looking at ways of automating processes.
- Support new starters and existing employees within the finance team and the business with any requests for core systems demonstrations of core finance processes and /or training sessions
- Proactively design a system enhancement process and promote best practices, ways of working to the business.
- Maintain any system related finance process and or training documentation
- Communicate to the business any new system enhancements or changes to process.
Finance Analysis
- Take ownership of a portfolio of our payment service providers and complete revenue recognition calculations at month end, for review by the Group Reporting team
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc analysis as required, including preparation of cost review files at month end
- Support the development and implementation of enhanced statutory and management reporting / analytical review packs
Key Requirements and Attributes
- Experience with finance systems administration, with hands on experience acting as an in-house ‘super user’, being the first point of contact for all systems queries.
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant familiar with core finance processes and practical knowledge of revenue recognition, cost accounting and financial reporting.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the genuine drive and commitment to identify opportunities for standardization, simplification and automation.
- Strong influencer and communicator comfortable working with multiple stakeholders.
- Project management experience in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- To behave always in a professional manner, maintaining a positive and conscientious work ethic whilst also demonstrating initiative and determination to get the job done.
- To work effectively with colleagues both within the immediate team and across the company whenever necessary.
- To demonstrate a willingness to adapt to the evolving environment of the company, teams, and work requirements.
- Strong analytical and process mapping skills.
- Strong presentation and technical writing skills
