In the Finance & Operations Manager, BR role, you will be responsible for the direct supervision of the BR-based Accounting, Finance, and Operations functions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Accounting & Finance
- Perform general accounting activities, including but not limited to leading the BR component of the month-end close process and preparation of BR financial reporting, ensuring adequate, timely, and effective processes
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets
- Support the coordination and preparation of annual tax returns
- Lead any BR Audits and across all BR government reporting
- Ensure that all financial processes in Brazil are compliant with applicable laws and regulations (Tax Laws, etc.)
- Identify financial opportunities, such as subsidies
- Review, manage and optimize current financial policies, procedures, and systems
- Act as an advisor when partnering with the management and leadership team
- Operations
- Partner with the Global Operations Manager when:
- Identifying obstacles and tension points in workflows and processes to proactively mitigate, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to and resolutions to maximize efficiency and revenue
- Developing, managing, and maintaining operational policies and procedures, BR region yearly budgets, as well as overseeing, reporting, tracking, planning, auditing, and managing analytics
- Provide interdepartmental support from a budgetary perspective for projects throughout the BR region, including but not limited to when:
- Providing senior on-the-ground support to the Facilities Manager to ensure the successful completion of facility-related projects
- Leading and directing with internal teams and external partners and vendors (I.e., Alienware Lab)
- Oversee and provide general on-the-ground leadership support when working closely with the Facilities Manager, including but not limited to when:
- Planning and managing interoffice moves
- Coordinating building space allocation and layout based on current and projected needs
- Implementing new green initiatives
- Negotiating, implementing, and revising maintenance contracts with vendors, executing as needed on a tactical level based on the terms of the agreements
- Ensuring appropriate Insurance coverage policies are in place and dealing with claims
What You'll Need:
- A bachelor's degree (HBO) in the area of Finance or Business Administration
- 5-7 years of previous experience working in an operational capacity supporting a fast-paced environment with the ability to handle rapid organizational change
- Strong knowledge of fiscal laws and regulations
- Experience taking a leadership role across month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, tax filings, policies, and government reporting requirements in Brazil
- Experience managing a team with the ability to provide feedback and assessments based on team members' performance, communicate and oversee individual team members' tasks, and train and monitor individual team members' skill sets
- Proven track record of building and optimizing problem resolution and escalation processes through tight coordination with internal stakeholders
- Prior experience creating, managing, and owning regional budgets
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse individuals and effective two-way communication between team members, alternative teams, leadership, and vendors
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Ability to process contracts and lease agreements
- Advanced skills with accounting software, including QuickBooks, Excel, and reporting software tools
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
