Our IP-license partners include Universal (Jurassic World), Formula 1 and Games Workshop (Warhammer).We are also growing our team to continue the expansion of Frontier Foundry, our publishing label for games developed by carefully selected partner studios.
We have a modern spacious studio located on the Cambridge Science Park in the heart of the Cambridge tech hub. For those who wish to relocate to the Cambridge area and work either entirely in the studio or flexibly between the studio and home, we can provide generous financial and practical support to facilitate your move. We are also able to offer remote working for those who would prefer to work almost exclusively from home or who are unable to relocate. Purpose of the role
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a qualified accountant to join us as a Finance Manager. For this newly created role, we are looking for a well organised candidate with people management experience to ensure the smooth running of the day-to day finance operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Operations and Corporate Tax, and working closely with the wider finance team, you will also ensure the accurate preparation of the monthly management accounts and forecast information.
You will also work collaboratively across the company, particularly with department heads and budget holders, supporting on internal and external reporting requirements, and providing support to our project teams where necessary to deliver our amazing games.
Financial Operations Responsibilities
- Line management of a small finance team including Payables Manager and Finance Assistant
- First review of month end reports and transactions and prepare the first draft of the monthly consolidated management accounts for review with the Head of Financial Operations and Corporate Tax
- Monthly review of budget trackers and variance reports with the Management Accountant
- Approval of the weekly payment run
- First review of quarterly royalty reports and workings for IP partners
- First point of contact for the team on month end and budget queries
- Production of monthly headcount analysis and reporting for the Executive Team
- Provide support to the Head of Financial Operations and Corporate Tax and the Head of Financial Planning and Corporate Finance on one-off projects to support the growth of the company
Treasury Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain a rolling cashflow forecast for all main currencies (GBP, USD, EUR, CAD) for all bank accounts within the Group to assess liquidity requirements and manage currency risk
- Monitor compliance against the Group’s Treasury Policy working with the Head of Financial Planning & Corporate Finance and CFO
- Monitor cash deposit accounts and make recommendations for approval by the Head of Financial Planning & Corporate Finance and CFO
Financial Planning Responsibilities
- Supporting the Management Accountant in delivering the quarterly forecast update and the annual financial plan, for review with the Head of Financial Planning & Corporate Finance
- Create ad-hoc projections and analysis
- Supporting the Commercial Accountant and working with the Commercial and Data teams to prepare quarterly royalty forecast updates for IP partners
- Working closely with the Director of Operations and Producers to prepare robust headcount roadmaps
Corporate Accounting Responsibilities
- Assisting with the annual audit and interim review
- Support with the production of accounting papers for the Audit Committee
About you
- Essential:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Expert user of MS Excel
- Excellent communicator and stakeholder management
- Excellent attention to detail
- Desirable:
- Experience of working in the tech sector
- Previous experience with IFRS
- Experience working with intangible assets and project accounting
