Finance Manager - Group Accounting

Summary

What You'll Do

• Meet monthly Financial and Half Year and Year End reporting requirements
• Assist with the preparation of Half and Year End Statutory reports and Audit Committee Reporting, including Group Cash Flow Statement
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and corporate governance / statutory regulations
• Drafting of accounting papers for significant technical accounting issues
• Local financial statements preparation and review
• Review month end transactions and balances for unusual items and follow up on these
• Assist with ensuring close processes are effective and efficient in line with reporting needs
• High level periodic reviews of balance sheet reconciliations
• Advises stakeholders on accounting impacts of transactions / helps develop solutions to challenges with key focus on revenue recognition, share based payments and leasing
• This role is key in supporting the external audit requirements

What We're Looking For

• Candidate will be an active Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and most likely have completed their BA/BS in business, accounting, finance or related field with equivalent experience
• Strong understanding of technical accounting principles
• Good communicator who can present, write, and influence staff and management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Adaptable to changing priorities
• Detailed orientated and can meet tight deadlines
• Detailed understanding of the importance of robust control environment

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of technical accounting experience, preferably with experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm
• Have identified change initiatives to deliver process improvements and efficiency
• Involved in technical accounting position assessments
• Audit experience (either as an external auditor, or being involved in working with auditors)
