Finance Assistant

We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join us at Build A Rocket Boy.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for accounts payable, bank reconciliations and general admin work.

In addition to various core bookkeeping duties, the Finance Assistant will serve as a backup resource for other members of the Finance Department as and when required.

This is a vital role and you will be joining the team at a crucial time for the studio. It will offer a great career opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Process all bank and debit/credit card transactions (around 400 per month)
• Process purchase & sales invoices
• Raise purchase orders
• Manage employee expenses
• Maintain the invoices to be paid sheet
• Perform bank reconciliations for all entities
• Maintain supplier records
• Maintain the company contract tracker
• Provide information to external payroll processors in UK and Holland including new starts, leavers, and pension enrolment information
• Process USA payroll bi-weekly
• Process month end journals
• Support the Finance Director and Finance Manager with various financial or administrative tasks as needed

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferable but not essential
• Strong interpersonal communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (especially Word & Excel)
• Familiarity with online banking tools and financial accounting products preferable but not essential (e.g. Xero)
• Proactive approach and strong sense of personal motivation
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, high growth, start-up company environment
• High school degree or better
• Bachelor’s degree with a Business and/or Financial emphasis a plus but not essential
