Job Title: Finance Analyst
Team: Finance
Location: SI HQ, Here East, London
Reporting to: Natasha Singh, Head of Finance
Position Overview
This is a newly created role which reports to Head of Finance and will work closely with our Operations and Business Intelligence teams, as well as colleagues in Business Planning and Finance at SEGA HQ. This is a varied role in a regularly changing industry for an extremely organised, reliable, inquisitive individual.
Key Responsibilities
This key finance role will provide/establish accuracy, visibility, detailed reporting and analysis on a variety of areas focused around financial cost and performance of our studio team, games and the overall impact to our business.
As a good communicator, you will be presenting recommendations and findings to key stakeholders within the business
The ideal candidate will question current practices and seek business improvement(s) where possible. We are also looking for someone who faces challenges with optimism and are always looking for ways to be helpful and improve the team.
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to senior management.
- Ensure input information is collated accurately from a variety of internal sources in the creation of costs and forecast planning.
- Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting, identifying risks and opportunities we may face.
- Lead the process of implementing and then overseeing the successful management of Vena reporting tool into the studio for both costs and revenue reporting.
- Support the annual Mid Term Plan process (5 years).
- Perform sensitivity, scenario, and what-if analyses, as well as analysing the financial impact of changes in business.
- Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organisation, such as building new reporting for teams or documenting current processes in place and finding efficiencies.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience
Essential
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly MS Excel (pivots, sumifs, vlookups etc).
- Advanced Excel modelling skills with experience of managing large and complex data sets.
- Outstanding analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize a large amount of data into key themes and trends, spotting any anomalies and building a comprehensive story.
- Experience in cost forecasting – advanced understanding of building accurate forecasts, the ability to identify quality data and apply necessary patterns and adjustments to the current need.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
- Experience in presenting with excellent PowerPoint skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work in a fluid environment.
Desirable
- Familiarity with financial reporting concepts such as P&Ls, capitalisation, and amortization etc.
- Good understanding of video games and key video game concepts (free to play, downloadable content, micro transactions etc).
- Experience in designing and delivering high-quality financial analysis.
- Experience in implementing new systems for both costs and revenue.
- Working towards an accounting qualification: ACCA, CIMA or AAT (we would look to provide financial support upon successfully passing your probationary period).
