What you will do:

As a Gameplay UI Technical Designer you will work with gameplay designers, artists and engineers to create intuitive on-field player-experiences. You will breakdown gameplay designs into smaller pieces, through the lens of interactive user-experience to create building blocks which can be reused to build and expand the game's indicators, banners and on-field onboarding. You will collaborate with the UX/UI team and visual designers to build prototypes and implement features to design specification through visual scripting and coding. As a UI Technical Designer, you will work across multiple game teams to set and advocate for best practices and create workflows to allow iterative development.

Responsibilities

  • You will implement screens, widgets, indicators, logic and data flows
  • Design and help build tools and workflows to support iterative development
  • Prove out and advocate for best practices for UI architecture
  • Work with designers and engineers to determine design, technical and data requirements
  • Design and implement in-game feedback for new and existing features that meets the technical, aesthetic, and functional requirements of the game's vision
  • You will implement UI animation and motion of prepared screen assets to support interaction and motion guidelines
  • You will prepare and document components to be used by designers and engineers

Requirements

  • Experience prototyping, developing and maintaining UI features from concept to release
  • Shipped at least 1 title as a Technical Designer, Technical Artist, Scripter or similar role
  • 2+ years of experience working in Games
  • Experience working in a collaborative and cross-discipline environment
  • Experience with Visual Scripting or Programming/Scripting languages such as C# and LUA
  • Passion for Games and UI

HOURLY PAY RANGES

• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $37 - $55
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
º $34 - $55
• New Jersey (depending on location e.g. Jersey City vs. Trenton):
º $34 - $55
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $34 - $50
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $34 - $50

The hourly rate is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.
